BetMGM Sportsbook has just added its first new partner from the WNBA.
The Vegas-based sportsbook has announced a new partnership with the Las Vegas Aces. The operator was looking to add a team from the quickly growing women’s league, and found one right in their backyard.
“As we enter this era of tremendous growth in women’s sports, BetMGM could not have two better organizations to partner with than the WNBA and the Aces. Not only do the Aces play in our backyard at Mandalay Bay, but they share our commitment to giving back to the community.” BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt shared in a press release.
The deal between the two sides allows BetMGM to place large signage throughout the Michelob Ultra Arena, which is at the MGM-operated Mandalay Bay. BetMGM ads and promos will also be included on the Aces’ social media accounts and pre- and post-game shows.
MGM will also be named as an official partner of the WNBA, allowing it advertising rights across the league. MGM casinos will also be able to offer WNBA-themed slot games.
The deal between MGM and the Aces will run through 2027.
WNBA Betting Continues to Grow
The WNBA had been struggling to stay relevant for a long time, but that’s been changing over the last few years. Sports media have added more coverage to the sport, which has found a new pair of rival superstars in Caitlan Clark and Angel Reese. As a result, the TV ratings, ticket sales, and merch sales have all been on the rise.
Increased national exposure has also led to a significant jump in WNBA betting. Last season saw an increase in wagers on the league of over 130%. This jump was a motivating factor for MGM to partner with the league in an attempt to attract new bettors as the sport continues to grow.
